CHANEL LES BEIGES ALL-IN-ONE HEALTHY GLOW CREAM SPF 30 / PA+++

You may have already read my rave reviews about the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powders HERE and HERE (and is the compact in the right hand-side of the photo above) .  It's a wonderful staple to have.  The Les Beiges range was designed to be simple and intuitive and to reveal a healthy glow with provide a "sensation of lightness, well-being and freshness" all year round.

I had seen the cream version of these online, but unfortunately these were not made available here in Australia.  However, I managed to find it online last year at cosme-de.com. :)  I was very thrilled indeed.  These appear to be an Asia-exclusive.  However, there will be a whole range of Healthy Glow products for the upcoming summer collection including this cream product discussed in this post.  (See the Beautezine for details of what's in the collection).  The collection looks beautiful - especially, the new Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour Powders. *swoon*.  However, I have noticed that the summer collection's version of the Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Cream are SPF 15 instead of SPF 30, which is what I have from the Asia-exclusive range.  While the difference between the two is marginal (96.7% versus 93% UV protection), I obviously still prefer the one that'll give me to most protection - especially when I live in Australia.  Because of this, I have purchased a backup of the SPF 30 version.
Here's what Chanel say about the healthy glow cream:
This all-in-one product is a complete even-toning, moisturizing, protective and soothing step that instantly lights up the complexion.
Perfect for all skin types, even the most sensitive, LES BEIGES Cream provides a sensation of comfort and hydration thanks to a hyaluronic acid derivative.
Cotton flower and white rose plant cells, combined with a high SPF 30 / PA +++, protect the skin from environmental stress, such as pollution, free radicals and sunlight. Like an imperceptible caress, the light and silky texture leaves the skin fresh, soft and moisturized all day long.

Pure and dazzling, the complexion reveals its healthy glow, as if you just spent a weekend outdoors.

Use the cream on its own, over your makeup base or under your usual foundation.

Apply with fingertips or a foundation brush, smoothing from the middle of the face outwards.

Finish with the Healthy Glow Sheer Powder for extra touches of radiance and a longer-lasting effect. It is perfect for touch-ups all day long.

Currently only available in the light shades: No. 10 and No. 20.  I have No. 20, which has a peachy undertone.  Note, the range to be released internationally for summer will have a greater selection from No. 10 to No. 60 (similar to the powders - shade availability may be vary in some countries).

I've been using this for about four months and I love this product.  It has a cream to liquid consistency.  It feels very soft and airy when I apply it on my skin and it blends effortlessly using my hands.  It evens out my yellow/olive skin tone (covers any redness and slightly dark pigmentation) and gives my face an overall, brighter complexion as claimed.  (Much darker spots need concealing).  It also definitely does help to make any enlarged pores much less visible and gives an overall smoother finish as claimed.  No. 20 is a couple of shades light for my current summer tan, but will look much better during winter when my skin is lighter.  While, I would better suit a No. 30 if it was available, I can still get away with No. 20, especially if I apply the Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in No. 30 or 40 in the high points of my face to add dimension and help to blend in with my natural skin tone a bit more and match my neck and chest area.  Also, being essentially like a BB cream, it's sheer so it's more forgiving and will allow my natural skin tone to show through.  My skin is a little dry at present and I find it works fine.  It has a very natural, seamless finish with the slightest hint of luminosity.

I really appreciate the decent SPF level of 30.  A high-level of SPF is what I personally look for in BB/CC creams so it's a convenient all-in-one product for on the go, travelling, quick sprucing and so on.  And, I won't feel the need to put an extra layer of SPF underneath with a higher level of protection (I'm pedantic / cautious that way!). ;)

This is a great staple in my collection for when I don't need much make up on and my skin is in fairly good condition.

If I had to compare this to the Chanel CC Cream, I would say that I like both as they are slightly different and would serve their purpose depending on my skin needs at a particular point in time.  The CC Cream has a thicker consistency, provides much better coverage (medium to full!), has a satin finish, and probably not best for those with very dry skin.  Les Beiges' offers sheer to medium coverage, has a luminous (but, not dewy) finish, and feels a tad more moisturising in comparison - but I still would not say it's moisturising enough for very dry skin (despite being claimed as "perfect for all skin types").  Shade-wise, the CC Cream in No. 20 is lighter and is yellow-toned, while Les Beiges' in No. 20 has a peach undertone (see swatch comparison further down below).  But, overall, I would say I prefer the slightly more moisturising, more lightweight and comfortable feel of the Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Cream and its darker shade is a closer fit for me.  If I need more coverage due to break-outs and pigmentation, and my skin isn't dry (which it can sometimes be in the winter), then I would opt for the CC Cream.  I found it best to apply with clean hands (although the product brochure does state it can be used with a brush as well).  However, I have tried both when my skin was very dry and flaky (eew!) and they can be applied reasonably well by using a damp sponge (like a Beauty Blender or similar) and dabbing it on and this keeps the flakiness at bay and kinda flattens them down on the skin so it looks smoother.  (See Sharon Farrell's great tips for dry skin here).  The moisture from the sponge also adds hydration, too.  Otherwise, if you use your hands, both products can emphasise the dry flakiness.

I would not use the Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Cream alone if you were after something that added a darker tint / tan to your skin tone ("as if you've just spent a weekend outdoors").  You'd need a bronzer or a darker Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder shade on top for that.  Unless of course, you are naturally fairer than the shade No. 20.  Even still, on the contrary, I found this to be brightening and colour correcting.  So, a sun-kissed tint doesn't quite live up to the claim of just having been outdoors.  Not that I mind personally, because I am naturally tanned enough already.  Getting a darker shade from the new summer range might be an alternative when it becomes available, though.  One thing is for sure, it definitely gives a healthy glow. :)

Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Cream comes in a convenient, easy-to-carry, squeezable tube - the same as the Chanel CC Cream, but it's in the same cream colour as the Les Beiges powder compacts.
The black cap twists open.  It's very secure so there won't be any spills in your hand bag.  The only thing I don't like is that the product can tend to pool inside the cap, so there's a little wastage and it's quite messy in there.  I have to wipe it clean regularly, so it's a bit annoying.
Above: the shade number can be found on the back of the tube.

Below are swatch comparisons of the Chanel Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Cream in No. 20 to the Chanel CC Cream in No. 20.  Further down after that is a comparison between the Diorskin Nude BB Cream in 003 and Les Beiges No. 20.  I personally found Dior's to be a little too warm and orange/muddy on my skin and doesn't exhibit the same level of colour correction and brightening effects as the Chanel CC Cream or Chanel Les Beiges Cream.  I also prefer the scent of Chanel's products compared to this particular Dior product.  For reference, I have olive, tanned skin (normally wear a B30 to B40 in Chanel's foundation range).  All photographs were taken indoors under artificial lighting and using a strobe.
Below: heavy application of both products - blended out.

It has a fresh scent consistent with the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder that reminds me of the Chanel Hydramax + Active Serum (older version that I have anyway) or the Chanel Perfection Lumiere liquid foundation.  It is only noticeably when you first apply it, but disappears shortly afterwards.

In summer heat, when I had combination (oily T-zone) skin, I found it to last only approximately 5-6 hours (with no primer) before it started to wear/fade noticeably.  However, it lasts about twice as long (without primer) now that it's autumn and much cooler and I have normal to dry skin.

I purchased mine from cosme-de.com.  I suspect it is available in counters in Asia, but can't be too sure.  If you know, please leave a comment below!  :)  I believe the new SPF 15 version to be released this summer, will be available as late as the end of June in Australia, and May 5th elsewhere like the USA.

This product truly excels at colour correcting, brightening, smoothing and giving a beautiful, perfected, very natural-looking healthy glow with high sun protection.  As mentioned, I already purchased a backup for these reasons.  I won't be surprised if end up buying one of the new versions in a darker shade to suit my skin tone better when it becomes available, too.  Eeep!  All in all, I'm pretty happy with this thing. :)  But, I would not recommend if you have very dry skin and need a bit more hydration.  Whilst I didn't find it dried out my skin, it just wasn't adding moisture as I'd expected - but on the other hand, this works as an advantage to those with normal or combination to oily skin.

Hope this was helpful. :)

Thanks for looking! ^_^ xo
