How To Use: Etude House Bling Eye Prism #05 Bling Bold

Cream shadows always turn into eyeshadow bases for me!  I know you probably feel the same!  So when I got my hands on Etude House Bling Eye Prism --- their newest from eye makeup line, I immediately thought of using it as the usual eyeshadow primer/ base.  But on first use, I was so in love with the shade I don't want to change the "blingy" effect by patting on powdered shadow!  You may, but I chose not to!

So this post is a simple tutorial on how I would wear my #05 Bling Bold Shade and how to create that "multiple shadow" look with just ONE PRODUCT.

Let's start by talking about the product first before I move on to the tutorial.  The Etude House Bling Me Prism comes in 5 shades ---

01 Honey Clam, 02 Sunny Carat, 03 Darling Heart, 04 Pearlfect and 05 Bling bold.

Housed in a "lip gloss" type of packaging with a doe-foot applicator.

The shade 05 is my favorite shade among all the shades available for this line!

#05 Bold Bling
A cool-toned taupe-y brown with a metallic finish!
It does not dry off immediately (takes around 15 seconds or so) so you actually have enough time to really "move" the shadow around before it sets!  This makes it a unique product yet a bit challenging to work with especially on first time non-powder shadow users!

How I would use this product to achieve the daytime smoky look I want.

I highly recommend anyone who plans to use this product to take time in application!  This takes a bit longer for me to apply then powered shadow but the effect is worth it!

Oily-lidded individuals may choose to use an eyelid primer because this product WILL CREASE midday!

Firstly, apply a thin layer of Bling Bold shade using the applicator.  I like to create a half moon shape going a bit beyond the crease line.

Now it is very easy to be "OC" with how the shadow look, fret not!  It doesn't have to be perfect as we will blend out edges with a brush.

For first-timers, you may just end here and apply your favorite liner and mascara and you're good to go!  Since I wanted more out of the shadow and wanted that ultimate "metallic bling" effect, I went further.

Apply 2nd and third layer as needed but keep in mind to open your eyes and look straight especially for fellow hooded-lids!  You can always apply higher one step at a time making sure the color is peeking out even if you open your eyes!

Let the "base" set for a couple of minutes, touch to make sure it is completely dry before you do the next step.

Using the same doe-foot applicator, apply a bit more of the product this time with a "dabbing motion" packing in more metallic sheen!  Can you the gradient effect?

Again, wait for at least a minute for the cream shadow to completely dry before you apply the rest of your makeup!

Yes, it takes time, the struggle is real for first-timers but the effect is definitely worth it!
